About us
Kehillat Shaarei Shushan (KSS) is nestled in the heart of Brooklyn’s Midwood neighborhood and is home to a vibrant Persian-Sephardic Torah community.
At our foundation, we stand as a beacon of faith, tradition, and unwavering commitment to our shared history and future. Our community-centric shul is built for its members, by its members, grounded in the communal ideals of our devout and diverse Persian-Sephardic membership.
Bet Midrash
The KSS Bet Midrash is the centerpiece of our community, serving as a hub for learning and guidance. Open to all, regardless of experience or educational background, the Bet Midrash offers multiple classes and shiurim, focusing on both mental and spiritual well-being to empower participants across all stages of life.
The KSS Community
Our dynamic committees and youth and young adult programs create varied opportunities for communal connection and inspiration, benefiting all segments of our population, including the Ladies Auxiliary and Chessed groups.
Meet The Board
The KSS Board of Trustees, guided by our Rabbi and dedicated community leaders, shapes the strategic vision and provides operational support for a sanctuary of warmth, acceptance, and learning—a place where the ancient wisdom of Torah illuminates the path forward for our vibrant community.
